For those who won't ever start writing unless they are placed on a dead line, NaNoWriMo is the ulimate choice for you!
It stands for National Novel Writing Month and it takes place every November. During the month, thousands of writers from all around the world all commit to writing 50,000 words within only thirty days. The website provides you with a word count tracker, inspirational pep-talks, and fourms where you can ask adivce from fellow novelists.
If you win by reaching your word count, there are a number of coupons that you recive from sponsers of the website, which is completely non-profit.
Visit NaNoWriMo's SiteWattpad is an app and website that allows you to write your novel and relase it to the rest of the community. This is not publishing, although if your story reaches a certain point of popularity you might be offered a publishing deal.
Wattpad is a spectacular option for you if you're looking for editing and story line tips from common readers as you write your first draft.

While the desktop app may pull from your pocket a bit, the website is completely free. As you can see, this is phonomonal for any writer who isn't willing to hire a professional editor to look over their work.
